Put a lid on it. Plans to cap the I-Five Freeway at the Rose Quarter have won approval from an advisory committee and could head to City Council this fall. The freeway lid would stretch from just north of NW Broadway to just south of Weidler. The plan would also widen the shoulders of I-Five and add two lanes from I-405 to I-84. Roads around the Rose Quarter would also be reworked to improve the flow of traffic. The joint project of the city and O-DOT would cost $400 million dollars and has yet to receive funding.
