Jordan Hill: A Scholar and A Seahawk.
April 30, 2013, 4:10 pm
Former Penn State DT Jordan Hill joined John Canzano on The Bald Faced Truth Tuesday to talk about his career at Penn State and being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Hill said that he remained at Penn State despite recent scandals for many reasons, “One of them being this Saturday, when I’ll be graduating with a Penn State education, a Penn State degree. Plus everything that Penn State has given me. I didn’t feel that I could just walk away.”
Hill said that despite the unfortunate events at Penn State, he owes much of his experience to Joe Paterno.
“As I got older, he would come up to you and let you know what he expected from you on and off the field. He always wanted the best of people. You had to be clean-shaven, always representing yourself like a pro.”
Hill was drafted to the Seattle Seahawks in the third round.
“I was sitting there with my family. I get the call and it’s a little bit loud, I’m yelling at everybody to shut up. I don’t even remember who called, I was so worked up. I was trying to play it cool.”
Hill says that he looks forward to relocating to Seattle.
“[Seattle] had a great season, and I’m looking to come in and help out. I’m just excited to get up there, everybody tells me that the weather and the people are just like at Penn State. I’m just ready to get up there.”
