April 26, 2013, 1:58 pm
A wanted fugitive from out-of-state who was considered armed and dangerous was shot by a Marion County Sheriff's deputy this morning in South Salem. It's the second shooting this week involving the department.
Deputies were called to check on a man who was slumped over in the seat of a stolen car that was parked on Sunnyside Road SE near Interstate 5.
There was an encounter after deputies woke him up and he was shot in the leg. He's expected to live. The deputies were not injured.
There's no word why the man was wanted, but we hear he had warrants in Utah.
