Portland teacher on leave for excersising 1st amendment rights.

History teacher, Jeff Miller of Lincoln High School, has been placed on paid leave after using the word Nigger in his classroom. Miller was teaching a lesson on race relations in Southern America when he used the word while impersonating a white man from the south. Miller was also accused of inappropriate contact with a student because of an incident where he and a female student touched backs while playing air guitar during a lesson.

Many of Mr. Miller students have claimed there was nothing inappropriate in his use of the word in question as he was using it to make an academic point. The school released a statement regarding the leave Mr. Miller with no mention of why he was put on leave. To find out more on this story click through to the KXL news link.
