Blasts in Boston Hit Close to Home
It's a sad and busy day in the KXL newsroom. Shortly after noon our time, two bombs exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Reports right now say two people have died and dozens more are injured. Here at KXL, our first thoughts were of our own friends, family members and acquaintances who are in Boston for the marathon. Of course, running is huge in our community. More than 350 Oregonians participated in the race, including Olympian Kara Goucher. Just as many were in Boston to watch and support the runners.
We here at KXL are working hard to bring you all the information, and the most accurate. At times, that can be difficult. In the beginning, there were reports that 12 people were dead, but now we know that is only two. Also, some media outlets are reporting that a suspect is in custody, but police in Boston are not confirming that. Please know that we are doing our best to sort through all the information and we'll keep on this story as it continues to develop. All of our thoughts are with those in Boston and everyone effected by this tragedy. -Lacey
