Landslide Still Threatening to Swallow WA Homes

It's still not safe for residents to return to their homes on Whidbey Island in Washington. They might not be able to go back for a few more days until geologists determine it's safe.
There are now five homes in jeopardy of being swallowed up. Three dozen homes are evacuated after Wednesday morning's massive landslide. Mud and debris took out one home in its path and cut off access to many others.
Residents in the Ledgewood neighborhood south of Coupeville heard what sounded like a sonic boom overnight. It's a community overlooking Puget Sound about 50 miles north of Seattle.
One person was rescued by firefighters and others were brought to safety by boat. Some residents are staying at a community center until it's safe to return.
Authorities believe saturated ground from last week's snow caused the slide.
