Man Missing After Fall Into Columbia River

Search crews have spent another day looking for a St. Helens man who fell off a docked Christmas ship Saturday night.

43-year-old John Sullivan was a guest on the boat Trilogy, which was docked on the outside of other boats near St. Helen's. Around 9:15pm, witnesses say Sullivan slipped from the top of the boat and fell into the Columbia River.

Crews searched the river until 11:45pm before calling off the search. They continue searching Sunday morning with no luck. According to Jess Heitman, President of Christmas Ships Inc., this was the first time the boat Trilogy was involved with the Christmas ships.

He added that they had all the proper paperwork and safety measures in place.
