On September 11th, four Americans lost their lives in an organized terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. Three former Navy SEALS, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty and Sean Smith gave the ultimate sacrifice to  protect U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens.

I had the honor of speaking with Charles Woods, father of Tyrone Woods shortly after the news broke that Ty and the other SEALS had called for help while under attack, but were denied. Two months after the attack we are still asking the same questions. When did our government know about the attack, and why were our fellow Americans denied help?

Yesterday the President gave his first news conference since the election. When asked by Ed Henry from Fox News if the President gave any order to protect the lives of the SEALS on the ground and our ambassador, the room became very chilly. Barack Obama explained that the moment he heard learned our consulate was under attack, he gave the order to do whatever we could to protect our people in Libya. We still don’t know what “whatever” means. The President also said he has addressed the families of our fallen soldiers and would not speak to them through the media. Today Charles Woods came back on the show to respond to the President.

According to a close family member of Tyrone Woods, the President has not been communicating with their family, as Barack Obama claimed. Charles explained that he would love to fly back to Washington D.C. to sit down with the President and discuss what really happened in Benghazi.  “The President, he’s not willing to be transparent,” Charles said. “It makes me wonder if he is trying to hide something. And what is it?.”

I can only hope that when the President’s lies are exposed, the voters will respond. Charles Woods made it clear today that the life and memory of Tyrone Woods has inspired many of us that are familiar with his commitment to his family and country. Charles told us off the air that he is hoping for privacy and respect. We will of course do our best to honor that request but we can not allow the death of four Americans to go without and answer from the commander in chief.
