Most NBA players don't have the luxury of relying on superstar talent to help them create a legendary career. The majority of the NBA are players doing the little things just to stay on a teams roster. John Crotty carved out a nice 11 year career in the NBA by hustling, giving effort and making sure nobody out worked him. Crotty turned to broadcasting and is now a analyst with the Miami Heat. Crotty joined John Canzano on The Bald Faced Truth to break down the Heat and Blazers match-up.

The Miami Heat are the defending NBA champions due to the superstar play of LeBron James. John Crotty watches LeBron James all season and has valuable insight on the play of the future hall of famer.

"LeBron who took a lot of flack on a national basis is a good guy I mean he tries to the right thing, he's got great perspective and just seeing him go through his two years getting that championship and now trying to defend it is really interesting," Crotty said about Lebron James.

The Portland Trail Blazers in the late 90's went through a period in which their roster saw very colorful personalities take to the court. Crotty, a member of the Blazers in the late 90's recalls those days.

"It was an incredibly talented group but we had some troubling individuals at times on the team so it was never a dull moment with that group but I remember the practices being pretty intense because of the quality of the talent and the fact people had to compete and go after each other."

John Crotty also spoke with John Canzano about his career as a journeyman player that saw him play with seven different NBA teams.
