Investigators and the Clark County Medical Examiner have identified the 3 bodies in the fatal house fire in Washougal, Washington last week.

The preliminary investigation shows that the two of the victims, identified as Mona Bolton-Stanbary and Leona Daugherty, died of gunshot wounds prior to the house being consumed by fire.  The cause of death for Steven Stanbary has yet to be determined.  It should be noted that Law Enforcement did not discharge any firearms while responding to this incident.

Firefighters and police were not able to access the house when it burned down because of the hail of bullets that were fired from inside the house at the time.

While investigators are done with the property, will continue to be fenced off because the house was completely destroyed by fire.

Investigators will continue to work this case as an active investigation.  Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Washougal Police Department.
