The U.S. Postal Service says they are cutting Saturday mail service. They say the move will save $2 billion dollars per year.
People we talked to down at Portland's Main Post Office had mixed reactions. Some said it was sad and would be a hardship. Others said if it will help save our country's mail service then the move would be worth it.
The President of the National Letter Carriers Union calls the decision a disastrous idea and says it would be harmful to small businesses, rural communities, the elderly and the disabled. Local union reps question if the move is even legal saying its possible a move like this requires an act of congress.
