PORTLAND -- Visitors to the Ground Kontrol
classic arcade at Southwest 5th and Couch will notice a lot more than retro video games and pinball machines.
It's not often that people look forward to going into an arcade bathroom, but it's different here.
The first thing you might notice is the glowing color-changing sink with automatic faucets and LED lights.
The floor is not your standard fare with tiles of Pac Man mazes and video game graphics on the walls.
"People are usually pretty surprised to find such an interesting bathroom with a lot of features that you normally wouldn't see," said promotions manager Art Santana.
A remodel of the arcade moved it to another location temporarily. Interior designer Jessica Helgerson created the masterpiece when the arcade returned to their digs in 2011.
Ground Kontrol is one of ten spots around the county nominated for America's Best Restroom. Cintas started the contest twelve years ago to salute businesses who strive for restroom excellence in function and design.
