Blockbuster will close 300 stores nationwide, affecting 3,000 workers.
Dish Network, which owns Blockbuster, says its targeting stores that are under performing and those nearing the end of their lease. 500 under performing stores were closed last year.
This latest round of closures will leave only 500 Blockbuster stores nationwide. Dish has not announced which stores are being shuttered.
Pat Boyle asked on Facebook "when was the last time you went to a video store?" One person said yesterday. Another said last week. One man said the Newberg Blockbuster closed last week, so now he rents from Redbox. Another man said last time he was in a video store was for a going out of business sale.
