1,200 Gather at State Capitol Gun Rally
January 19, 2013, 11:25 pm
About 1,200 gathered and marched at the state capitol Saturday afternoon in support of their second amendment rights. The march was apart of "Guns Across America" where protests took place at state capitols around the country.
Conservative talk show host Lars Larson (who you can hear on KXL from noon to 4 PM) was in attendance and spoke to the crowd. "I have a right to carry a gun and the government wont and shouldn't take it away from you, me, or anyone else in this great country" said Larson. He explained to the crowd that no one should have to explain why they want semi-automatic weapons, because it's their right.
The march took place from 10:00 AM to noon, where marchers carried signs reading "Freedom", "It's a right for a reason" and "Outlaw guns and only outlaws will have 'em". The march was in response to the Obama administrations recent proposal to ban military style assault weapons, and high capacity magazines among other things.
