Laika Studios' ParaNorman Gets Oscar Nod

Hillsboro's Laika Studios movie ParaNorman has been nominated for an Oscar for best animated feature. It faces competition from Wreck it Ralph, Brave, The Pirates; Band of Misfits and Frankenweenie. ParaNorman was released in August and brought in $100 million dollars. It cost $60 million to make. Its the story of a young boy who can see dead people and fights to save his town from zombies.
It is not Laika's first Oscar nomination. Its 2008 animated feature, Coraline was also nominated in the same category.
