It takes more than a talented roster in the NFL to have success. Organizations also need a great coaching staff to help develop a talented roster into champions. George Seifert, former Super Bowl winning NFL head coach joined the Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano to give insight into coaching.
George and John talked about how coaches make the transition from college to the NFL. George talked about his time as an assistant coach for the Ducks.
"I started coaching at Oregon in 1967, I was there for 5 years and it was a great time with Len Casanova and Jerry Frei was a head coach at the time and we had John Robinson and Bruce Snyder and many other outstanding coaches that were on the staff at that time and some great players."
George Seifert was involved with the Niners organization during the Joe Montana trade that sent him to the Chiefs and enabled Steve Young to step in as the face of San Francisco. Seifert talked about the transaction.
"I think to this day when I walk the streets of the city (San Francisco) I'm ready to duck if some little kids throw rocks at me."
Seifert and John Canzano also touch on the playoff matchups in the NFL divisional round.
