Legendary Trainer Freddie Roach on BFT

Legendary Boxing trainer Freddie Roach called into the Bald Face Truth this afternoon to talk with John about the upcoming Sergio Martinez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fight on HBO.

Most don't know it, but Freddie was actually the trainer for Mark Wahlberg in his Golden Globe nominated performance in "The Fighter".

"Wahlberg is a pretty good fighter actually. He trains every day, and he has a boxing gym in his house that's as big as my boxing gym."

Now that Freddie is such a famous trainer, things have only improved for him since his days as a boxer. Both his paycheck and his lifestyle have only gone up.

"Money is much better. My biggest payday as a fighter was $75,000. So, I do a little bit better now."

Freddie goes on to talk about his career as both a boxer and a trainer, and details what he loves so much about the sport. Listen to the interview below:
