Seattle Rallies to Defeat Washington

The Seattle Seahawks advance in the playoffs after defeating the Washington Redskins 24-14 Sunday night.
Things looked treacherous for Seattle early, as Washington went down the field for touchdowns on their first two drives and an early 14-0 lead.

The first score came on a Robert Griffin II pass to running back Evan Royster from four yards out.

That was followed by another four yard TD pass, this time to tight end Logan Paulsen.

Washington's offense would falter after, never scoring the remainder of the game, as RG3's knee began to betray him.

Russell Wilson would also get the Seahawks offense rolling in the second quarter.

Seattle would finally get on the board with a Steven Hauschka field goal before Wilson took the Seahawks down the field and found Michael Robinson from four yards out for the touchdown.

Hauschka would add one more field goal before the half and Seattle went to halftime only trailing 14-13.

Seattle had a chance to take the lead on the opening drive of the third quarter, but Marshawn Lynch fumbled from the Washington 1-yard line and the Redskins would recover.

Lynch would make up for his error in the 4th quarter when he rumbled into the endzone from 27-yards out, giving the Seahawks their first lead of the game.


The ensuing drive, things would fall apart for Washington as Griffin would go down clutching his knee chasing a bad snap. Seattle would recover the fumble and tack on another field goal to make it 24-14.

Griffin would have to leave the game and Kirk Cousins would enter in his place. The offense would struggle under Cousins, failing to pick up multiple fourth down conversions to keep the team moving.

Seattle would  kneel on the ball and hold on for the victory.

The Seahawks will travel to Atlanta next to take on the Hawks.

Wilson finished the game 15/26 for 187 yards and one TD pass.

Lynch ran the ball 20 times for 132 yards.

Griffin, clearly limited by his ailing knee, was 10/19 for only 84 yards passing. He would rush for 21 more yards.
