A truck driver from British Columbia fell asleep at the wheel, flipped and crashed in the southbound lanes of I-5 past the 205 freeway just before 5:00 this morning. The wreck injured a passenger and shut down all lanes for several hours to start the rush hour.
The 53-year-old driver working for Blue Land Transportation Inc. was hauling 20,000 pounds of frozen fish. He was cited for not staying in his lane.
Traffic was still backed up for several miles five hours later.
